I met some amazing folks at the guest house- went biking thru parks and to the markets. Always an eclectic bunch! Works well for independent travelers.

Avrum's guest house is a really nice place to stay and this host was very interesting to talk to and you'll feel it easy to make yourself at home there.
If you stay with him you will probably meet some of Avrum's friends or guests who will be coming to his house and you might share some music and poetry with them.

Avrum is incredible. I stayed at his guesthouse in Jerusalem with a friend of mine and we felt like home there. Although we visited a lot of things and didn't have time to discuss much with Avrum, he is a really nice person, with a good story.

After one year of my first contact (finding out that we have a mutual friend in Australia and we share some interests in Travel, History, Culture, Art, etc), and a short notice request, I was finally able to meet Avrum in person and to spend some time with him (he has a busy schedule due to his studies in Tourism and other activities, so he highly appreciates that his guests are independent).
Due to an unexpected incident (Avrum's understanding & support), he let me come back and stay another night. He also hosted two friends of mine from abroad.
I found an unexpected, bohemian, artsy, quiet & comfy place, with great, caring & helpful hosts (Avrum himself, Debbie & Martin who help when he's out of town), interesting people and a great location for walking & exploring Jerusalem!
The residence of the President is few blocks away and you can also get to The Museum of Israel, The Bible Lands Museum, The Botanical Gardens, The Knesset, Rehavia (The Great Synagogue, Betzalel Academy) & other neighborhoods without problem.
If you're a walker, you can also get to the Independence Park, Jaffa Center (commercial area), the Municipality, Mahane Yehuda's Market (shuk) and even to the Old City too!
You'll feel at home, part of an eclectic family (forgetting that you're a tourist), sad to have to leave, but with a joyous heart for having the opportunity to be there. : )
Heartfelt thanks for your hospitality and for your friendship. I look forward to meet again and to be in touch. Maybe to travel together or being your hostess in Karmiel or in Mexico City!
.. thanks to DEBBY (she's very nice, helpful, we had some good chats and were able to spend some time together) too! : )
Avrum dear, may abundant blessings come your way!

I've been to Avrums place for two nights and it was such a great time when i was with him! We had great conversations also with his friends. He is very kind and invited me to have dinner and drinks with him! He introduced me and told me some stuff about Jerusalem and Israel, what was really good to know! Thank you for the great time my friend! I hope to see you next time!
So, if you need a lovely and beautiful place and some really great and kind persons go to Avrum and enjoy this adventure-man! ;-)

Avrum hosted me for a night in his WONDERFUL place. As soon as we arrived (me and my girl) he received us and invited us to have dinner with him and some friends and other hosts. We had a few hours of great, deep and interesting talks about different topics, which I really liked.
We felt at home, since he shows real interest in you and what you have to say or to teach, or whatever you wanna speak about with him. Avrum is one of the most curious persons I have ever met!.
I wish I could sometime invite him to my country and offer him at least as much as he offered to us.

I stayed at Avrum's hostel-in-progress in Jerusalem for free and it was absolutely awesome. I met some really friendly people there who gave me the lowdown on Israel and the local area. While I didn't get to meet Avrum in person (he was abroad), I did connect with his other guests enough to know that he seems awesome and I hope I can meet him in the future! I felt extremely welcomed and would recommend that you give Avrum's place a shot if you're ever in Jerusalem.

Wow. A very unique place in Jerusalem. Maybe it was just the people there that made it great, but I guess that's what truly matters in this world.
My time in Avrum's home was probably the most welcomed I've felt during my three weeks in Israel so far.
I was with several other couch surfers, and we cooked and shared meals together. Maybe it was Avrum's selection process, but the people there were all extremely interesting. I'm glad I got to spend two nights there and upset I couldn't spend more time. Maybe in the future I will visit again.

What an incredibly special place. Avrum was generous enough to allow us to stay at the remarkable hostel he is building in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods of Jerusalem. Old carpets, fairy lights, an interesting community, help with what we needed ... couldn't have asked for more from a couchsurfing experience. Highly recommended!

Avrum and his place in Jerusalem are special! Unfortunately I've met Avrum very shortly but anyway he was a very attentive and kind host. His house is a comfortable and cozy place to stay. Big terrace by the house gives a great chance to chill and have a peaceful rest after exploring the Old City and other parts of Jerusalem. Archeology and ancient history lovers will be very surprised to find an interesting site by the house...))

Avrum was very nice and helpful allowing me to stay in a dorm at the hostel he is building and preparing in the center of Jerusalem. Even if he was not in Jerusalem he managed someone to open me the door. Thanks!

Avrum is definitely one of the more special hosts in Jerusalem. He has a highly flexible state of mind and we went on a spontaneous and great Trip and I stayed longer than planned at his chilled place.
Avrum knows what he wants and he surely states it, so do not be dissapointed if you expect harmony. Avrum knows Israel like not many people and if you like adventure, intellectual conversation and meeting interesting people it is the place to be.

We had amazing time with Avrum. He spent a lot of time with us and was very easy-going and welcoming. Not only he welcomed us in his home but also showed us many nice places in Jerusalem. Thanks again and we would be happy to see more of him anywhere.
The Jerusalem Garden Apartments was the perfect choice for
my four week stay in Jerusalem.
The apartment is in an unbeatable location. Close to Emek Refaim and Azza Streets, the apartment is in a quiet residential area with shops and buses in the adjacent street. The newly renovated studio apartment 2 is generously sized with a full kitchen area as well as a large flat screen tv and unlimited wifi. The Jerusalem Garden Apartments also boasted a charming communal courtyard accessible to its guests. I cannot recommend the Jerusalem Garden Apartments highly enough.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Garden Apartments this summer. The studio was clean, comfortable, and equipped with all of the amenities necessary for a relaxing stay. Also, I could not have asked for a better location – Emek Refaim and the city center are just minutes away. I would highly recommend staying here on your next visit to Jerusalem!

"Great location at reasonable price in charming Katamon near Rehavia. There are plenty of shopping places nearby and it's a few minutes walk to Emek Refaim for restaurants, plus a bus goes by to the city centre and Old City. The apartment is kosher and there are shuls nearby. The manager is very helpful."
